Travel Post: Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro!

Finally after all the saving up. I/we were able to get out of town by ourselves! Lol! Yes, I'm proud haha! Cuz, it's been a while since I have gone to the beach and since it's Summer and one of the nearest places to go is near Batangas so where to? Puerto Galera!

We rented a cab going to Batangas Port. Since we knew Manong Driver before hand. We only paid him 2,500 from Manila to Batangas and back this excluded the fees for the toll ways though which costs us around 400ish. We left from Manila at around 4:30am and got to Batangas port at around 6.30 am.

Upon arriving the port. We were greeted by many people! So many people and also fixers (beware!) Some of those in the port are employees of the shipping lines you are to ride in. We chose Minolo Shipping Lines and there are people from the shipping lines who will guide you to the payment area. We only asked the cashier and no one else on what to pay and how much. We paid for round trip tickets which cost us 450 and terminal fee and environmental fee that cost us around 10/20 and 30 (can't remember) pesos so all in all we paid 500 each for all the fees. Once paid, we were asked to place our bags on their x-ray machines and proceeded to the waiting area.

Waiting for our Ferries

We didnt know that our shipping/ferry line had so many passengers so we have to wait for one of their employees to call us. Their ferries are named after birds like "Golden Eagle", "Golden Falcon" etc so you still have to check and listen on what Route the employees are saying before boarding.

Off to Mindoro!

The only thing that we hated on Minolo was accepting bulk load of passengers. The Ferry wasn't that big to accommodate so many of us. By my calculations we were 120 or something passengers including the ferry staffs plus the bags too were excess baggage. >.<  But that aside Minolo was able to bring us to shore safely and of course back. Travel time was an hour.

We stayed at BadLadz Beach Resort at Small Tabinay, Puerto Galera. Upon arriving at the Port of Muelle, we rode a tricycle that we paid for 25 pesos each to take us there. It's about 5 minutes away from the Port and very accessible to many areas since it's near the high way.

Our stay there was about 1, 390 per night for a Standard Room, Large Bed, TV, Own Bathroom with hot/cold shower and aircon. Not Bad! Plus the Food at their restaurant was good too! We regret eating at a place in White Beach for Lunch! >.< never to eat there again!

Will be posting about White Beach after this one. :)
