Are you guys movie fans or better yet movie buffs? I guess even non movie fans will enjoy this because it's free! Every year or if I should say every month different countries (from their embassy based in the country) hosts their own Film Festivals here in Manila and all over the country for FREE! Yes, you read it right FREE! You just have to line up for tickets and choose the movie you want to watch. Screenings schedules are posted all over the malls for the people to know.
This month is Japan's turn and here we have EIGA SAI Japanese Film Festival. Last year's Eiga Sai was a blockbuster! We weren't able to watch though. :( So Many lined up for the movies so we just went on window shopping instead cuz we didn't have money at that time.
So for your information here is what's in store for you in Eiga Sai:
The 2012 Eiga Sai Japanese Film Festival will be held from July to August this year at selected venues nationwide. This event is organized Japan Foundation Manila, in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan, Shangri-La Plaza Mall, UP Film Institute, Film Development Council of the Philippines, ClickTheCity.com, and NET 25 TV.
This year’s feature presentation is the film Villain (悪人) — a gritty social critique drama starring Eri Fukatsu and Satoshi Tsumabuki. The film was based on the novel “Akunin” by Shuichi Yoshida published in April 2007. Rounding out this year’s line-up of films are PEAK –The Rescuers, Railways, Happy Flight; Tomorrow’s Joe, In His Chart; Colorful, Abacus And Sword, Permanent Nobara, and Ninja Kids.
All films will be shown with English subtitles. Screening venues are at the Shang Cineplex Cinema 4 (July 5 to 15), Gaisano South Citimall, Davao City (July 20 to 22), Ayala Center Cinema 4, Cebu City (August 7 to 12) and UP Film Institute, Quezon City (August 15 to 21). Admission is absolutely free.
